Welcome to the
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Web Site!
On behalf of the faithful members of our Cathedral family, I welcome you to our website. Look around and take advantage of the valuable information and links in our site and learn more about our historic Cathedral and about the Greek Orthodox Church.
Being the inheritors and contemporary stewards of the first Greek Orthodox Church in North and South America, we are respectful of the honor in continuing the beautiful traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church here in New Orleans, and we are continually seeking out new ways of serving the faithful as well as our surrounding community as we serve Christ Himself.
As we continue into the twenty-first century, and adapt to the ever-changing pace of life, we here at Holy Trinity hold on to the teachings of the Faith while adapting to our modern challenges.
Meanwhile, we look forward to the weekend of liturgical celebrations for the Feast of Pentecost (May 23, 2010), including the Saturday of Souls the day before, and the Feast of the Holy Spirit the Monday following. Come join us for these beautiful services.
We are also excited about the upcoming 37th Annual Greek Festival – a Hellenic food and cultural weekend celebration (May 28th-29th-30th) that brings a taste of Greece to the levees along Bayou St. John that is strongly supported by all from throughout the greater New Orleans area.
Shortly after the Festival, we look forward to hosting the 34th Annual Conference of the Metropolis of Atlanta Southeastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs and Musicians. We will be welcoming choirs, chanters, and other musicians (June 24th to 27th, 2010) from throughout the Southeast and beyond for workshops and other events, culminating with the Sunday Divine Liturgy. For further information, click the LINK below.
Later on in the year, September 24-26, 2010, we are looking forward to hosting the Metropolis of Atlanta Young Adult Service Project Weekend, with the theme: “Be A Saint: Help Rebuild New Orleans!” Get some friends together and come join us for the soul-building work and the bond-building fellowship with other Greek Orthodox young adults!
Whenever you can, come visit us, either in person or through our web site and never hesitate to contact us with whatever question or suggestion that you may have. May the blessings of the Holy Trinity be with you always.
In His Service,
Rev. Fr. Anthony Stratis
Holy Trinity Cathedral Dean
